COVID precautions: Tulsa

We appreciate that the sudden arrival of the Omicron variant concerns many of you, so we are taking some precautions to set everyone’s minds at ease.

  • For the ceremony, Boston Avenue United Methodist requires that attendants wear masks.

    • Bring your own mask, or take one provided by the church. The mask the church provides are just outside the entrances to the sanctuary.

    • The sanctuary is large, well ventilated, and amenable to social distancing.

    • The wedding party and close family members will be tested in advance, so they will not wear masks.

  • For the reception, all guests must test negative for Covid before entering the venue. But don’t worry, we will help!

    • You can take a test right outside the venue, or present evidence of a negative test result from at most one day before.

    • We will provide enough tests for everyone to test at the venue if they wish to do so. Professionals will be on site to assist with testing.

    • There may be a short wait for testing outside the reception venue. We will provide hot beverages to keep you warm while you wait.

    • If you would prefer to take your own test, please do so on the 27th or 28th. Take a photo of the result or bring some other documentation and show this at the door.

Once you enter the venue with a negative test in hand, we invite you to enjoy the rest of the evening with us, without a mask.

In the unhappy event that one of our guests tests positive, sadly, we will not be able to admit them to the reception. We trust that you recognize that this is necessary to keep everyone safe. To anyone who cannot attend our ceremony or reception due to covid: we promise to make it up to you at a later date.

We appreciate that all this will be a little bit inconvenient and a little more stressful than one normally expects from a wedding celebration, but we believe that this is necessary for everyone’s safety. Thanks for understanding, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
